2016 will be the year of changes. Not only ‘New Year resolution’ wise, but also just in my normal life. Big things are going to happen like my graduation, hopefully traveling to Thailand and there’s a chance that I have to move houses. I don’t have control on everything that’s going to happen in 2016, but I will try to make the best of every situation. Of course I made myself some goals for this year. I don’t want to call it my New Year resolutions, but life goals, because it sounds less scary. Which is hopefully something I can stick with for the rest of this year. Continue Reading
Happy New Year my friends! May the new year that follows be the best you have ever had. What do you wish for in this new year?
‘Wish’ is maybe not the best word to use in this sentence, because we are in the driving seat of our life. So we have to take responsibility for our actions. 2016 will be the year for me that I’m going to make things happen, instead of wishing for something to happen. I’m tired of waiting for things to happen, which of course has no point of doing. I’m going to take control of my life and I hope you’re with me.
One of my resolutions for this year is to blog more regularly. If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that I ‘struggle’ with the fact I want to write about more than just travel. Traveling is something I love to do and love to write about, but it isn’t something I’m able to do a lot. As you may know I’m a teacher and I’m also still in university, which means I’m not able to travel whenever I want to. There’s so much more in my life what makes me happy and that’s something I also want to write about.
That’s why I want to share with you the change I’m going to make in this upcoming months. My blog will still be a travel blog, but with a more personal touch. This personal touch will be the other things what makes me happy in life, like baking or my love for makeup. I just want to write about happy things, which gives me positive energy and hopefully inspires and motivates you to do whatever you want.
Of course nobody, but myself, has given a label to my blog. It’s just because everybody is talking about creating your own niche and choosing your subject. This is an example of me caring to much about what other people think, something I really want to stop doing this year. Everybody is going to have an opinion and I need to let this fear go. This is something I want to work on this year and this is also something you’ll see in my upcoming content.
I hope I informed you enough about the changes that will happen on my site. And for now; Happy New Year!
As a geographer with a love for travel it’s impossible to not even think about the issues we have in the world. Political tensions, war, global warming, pollution and even health problems. Everything has its connections with geography and I’m not only interested in this, but it gives you also a helpless feeling for what’s happening in the world. Luckily I’m not the only one on this planet who thinks like me about this subject and I just needed to share this. It’s a German song from SIDO, called Astronaut. You don’t need to speak German to understand this song, but this is the link to the translation of the song.
I just wanted to share this to give our self some thinking material. We can’t change the world by ourself, but we either can’t change the world unless we change ourselves.
Listening to – Q-music (radio). I still listen a lot to my favorite band (Epica), but lately I’m also listening to newer music at the radio. Q-music is one of the biggest radio stations of the Netherlands with the newest hits. I love to listen to it while I’m driving the car or when I’m doing school work. Continue Reading
A lot of people have a bucket list and so do I, but there are also thing I really don’t want to do in my life. Things I’m scared of, things I stand for or just things I don’t want to do. So here is my anti-bucket list! Continue Reading
I’m coming to a certain point in life where I have to decide what I want to do with my life. The only thing I know is the fact I’m not ready to settle completely. Doing a master study is something I always wanted, so that’s something I think I want to do next year. The problem is that I’m interested in many, many studies, so this makes it only harder to decide what I want. I have a lot of interests, like social geography, physical geography, political geography, environmental changes, health issues, multi-media.. I have sort of the same problem with my blog; I want to share so many things, that I don’t know what to blog about. But that’s something else, so moving on.. Continue Reading
When you follow my blog you probably have seen some mistakes in the English language I use. I don’t deny that and sometimes I struggle with finding the right words for a blogpost. Writing in English instead of Dutch is a bit harder for me, but I don’t see it as a problem. I see it as a challenge. Actually I didn’t read any comments about the way I write the last couple of months. But even though I think it can be a problem for some of you that my English isn’t totally proper. That’s why I want to make clear what my reasons are for writing in English. Even though I don’t thinks it’s needed and it feels a bit like justifying myself, I just want to do it. Continue Reading
Hello March, you’re a new month, so that means new chances. Finally we’re heading to spring time again. I’m not a winter fan. I don’t like the cold and everything is so dark in the winter. It just isn’t my thing. March is for me just a normal month. I have to study, I have to go to work and I have to go to my English class. Nothing exciting this month. To make this month more exciting I have some goals I want to achieve. Continue Reading
