Dublin is a lovely city to visit, which has also a lot to offer. Not only in the city itself, but also outside of the city. There are many day trips from out Dublin which are worthwhile to make. There are a lot of organized tours from out Dublin, which aren’t even that expensive. So if you’re visiting Dublin, just go outside of the city for at least one or two days. So no matter how long you stay in this city, you won’t be able to get bored! Continue Reading

Last summer I decided to go on a small road trip through Europe. I had no job at that time and because I had some money saved, I was able to go. Copenhagen was really high on my bucket list, so I decided this was the perfect time to go. I had been to Denmark twice before, but never to Copenhagen. Maybe that was the reason why I really wanted to visit this city, but I have to say my visit was definitely worth it. I really loved the atmosphere is this city and it feels really modern, even though it has its historical sights. I’ve made a top five list of things you definitely need to do in Copenhagen. So here you go! Continue Reading
Because of the fact I didn’t plan anything for this summer and of the fact my boyfriend is away for two weeks, I really wanted to do something with my time. Now as you know, I love to travel, so I decided to search for something on a budget. Plane tickets are quite expensive in peak season, so I searched for an alternative and found a bus company which travels through Europe. The bus tickets are really cheap and all the way to Luxembourg I only pay €127,-. In Luxembourg I will meet my boyfriend and we have the last couple of days together in Luxembourg and Bruxelles. So what am I planning to do and to see on my Europe roadtrip?
Bremen: 1 day (layover stop, otherwise it was such a long bus ride)
• St. Petri Dom
• Haus der Bürgerschaft
I only have one day in Bremen, so I’m going to walk through the city and try to see as much as possible.
Copenhagen: 4 days
• Church of Our Saviour
• The Little Mermaid
• Amalienborg Palace (at 11.27 o’clock)
• National Museum and/or Geological Museum
• Renting a bike
• Free walking tour
• Shopping in Strøget
• Visit alternative Christiania (Maybe)
And if I have on day left, I will go to Malmö. This is a city in Sweden and it’s only 25 minutes by train away from Copenhagen.
Berlin: 4 days
• Berliner wall + search for streetart (East Side Gallery)
• Charlottenburg Palace
• Berliner Dom
• Renting a bike
• Going to the ‘Teufelsberg’
• Topographie des Terrors (museum)
• Fernsehturm (TV tower with an amazing sight of the city)
I’ve been already in Berlin a few years ago. So the most touristic attractions I have seen already, so I’m not going to visit that all again. I want to explorer the city more and don’t plan as much. I just want to feel the city vibe.
Frankfurt: 2 day
• Alte Oper
• Visit the Main Tower
In Luxembourg I will meet my boyfriend again and we’ll have our holiday together. So those days depends also on him what he wants to do, so those things below are only a guide line for those days. But maybe if we don’t want to do anything or we just want to shop or something, we do that.
Luxembourg: 3 days
• Chemin de la Corniche
• Cour Grand-Ducale de Luxembourg
• Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Luxembourg
• Visit Kazematten
Bruxelles: 4 days
• European Parlement
• Courthhouse of Bruxelles
• Cathedral van Sint-Michiel en Sint-Goedele
• The ‘Grote Markt’ (translate; big market)
• One day to a tropical swimming pool (Oceade)
This is just a guide line for me what I’m going to do the next couple of weeks. Some things I won’t do and probably I will do other things too. Traveling is about enjoyment and doesn’t need to be planned perfectly. Now I just have the highlights of the cities all in one post. So it’s easy for me to decide what I want to do, if I have ‘nothing’ to do. After this trip I will tell you what I did in each city and what I recommend to do if you are there.
My trip starts tomorrow, so if you want to be up-to-date about my trip, please follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I’ll update as much as possible, so you get a great impression of the cities! Do you have other recommendations for things to do or to see in those cities?
Okay. First things first; I didn’t expect that Ireland would be so beautiful and that I would like it so much! I needed to say that, because I think Ireland is way underrated.
So as you can tell I had two amazing weeks in Ireland. The first week was my exchange week, with students from Dublin. We did quite a lot that week. We saw a lot of Dublin, went to the Wicklow Mountains and went to Belfast. Continue Reading
At the end of this month I’ll go to Ireland for two weeks. The first week is for my study, which is an exchange with the university of Dublin. I’m studying at the university of Nijmegen following the geography teacher programme. The students from Dublin are also students from a geography programme, but not specific the teacher programme. At the moment my classmates and I are making two excursions for the Docklands of Dublin and for the Wicklow Mountains. The students from Dublin are also making two excursions and our teacher are also making some. So in the first week I’ll see a lot of Ireland, but there’s so much more. That’s why I stay a week longer, to see more of this beautiful country. We stay for the most of the time in a city, but Ireland has beautiful nature and I want to see that. Number 2 till 6 from this list are actually places that I’m going to visit with a tour. Continue Reading
After three days of Warsaw, it was time for Kraków. I went by train to Kraków and it takes approximately three hours to get there. I think the train is a great option to see more of a country and in Poland it’s a great way to travel. I think Warsaw is an amazing city, so I was really curious what Kraków would do to me. But it was as amazing as Warsaw, maybe even better. I fell in love with the city and already recommend this city to a lot of people! So if you want to know what to do in Kraków, you can read my post!
