When we travel to a country, we all want to learn something from its culture. The tourist guide can tell you a few things, just like your Lonely Planet, but it’s definitely not the same if you learn it from a local. It’s their culture and their home area, so of course they know it better than the tourist guide. But what are the best ways to meet locals while traveling? I’ll tell you the 5 best ways to meet the local community while you’re traveling. Continue Reading

Copenhagen was really high on my bucket list, so I decided this was the perfect time to go. I had been to Denmark twice before, but never to Copenhagen. Maybe that was the reason why I really wanted to visit this city, but I have to say my visit was definitely worth it. I really loved the atmosphere is this city and it feels really modern, even though it has its historical sights. I’ve made a top five list of things you definitely need to do in Copenhagen. In just 1,5 years I stayed in over 20 hostels. Before that I never slept in a hostel, so when I started traveling I didn’t really know what to expect. But what do you really need when you’re going to stay in a hostel? I made a list for you with 9 essentials you definitely need to bring to a hostel. Continue Reading
Even though it’s not sure yet, my boyfriend and I are planning a roadtrip to Belgium and France this year. In April we bought a ‘new’ car, so that’s why I came up with the idea to do a roadtrip this year. As I said, it’s not sure yet. We want to go on a vacation this summer, but we also want to save money for our trip next year (Thailand!). As a kid I always went on a ‘car vacation’ and I went many times to France (at least 10 times!). So I thought it’s time to go back to this lovely country and hit the road with our new car! I already made a list with 13 road essentials and now I’m going to share those essentials with you. Continue Reading

There’s always an excuse for everything, so there’s also an excuse for not traveling. I should say a lot of excuses. As a traveler you hear them all the time, so it’s time to bring those excuses down!
Excuse 1: “It’s too expensive”
Traveling can be really expensive, but it doesn’t need to. It depends where you are going (Australia is expensive, but Vietnam or Indonesia isn’t) and what kind of choices you make. Not only while traveling, but also before traveling. Save money instead of buying unnecessary material products like a brand new car and when you do that you’ll have enough money for traveling. One thing to make clear; traveling doesn’t have to mean staying in 5 star hotels and eating always in expensive restaurants. You can make your trip as expensive as you want. Continue Reading
